After writing a blog about a wedding reception a few days ago, I thought I would share my versatility and experience with you being an experienced club DJ. So here is a quick insight to an amazing night in a well known club in central Norwich back in July.
From the moment I started the night all the staff (and I) were massively looking forward to some excellent tunes, blended, mixed and faded together. If you’ve seen my previous blog about the wedding disco I provided recently, you’ll see the number of tunes I spin my way through at a club is a fair amount more than a wedding!
Below is the playlist of the night, all in the order I played on the night. You’ll see the mix I’ve chosen, some of the actual mixes are left out because the mixes I’ve used are absolute gems and I can’t give away allll of my favourites right now! Some of the tunes I sample for a while under a couple of other tracks. Some of the tunes are played for a few seconds before I switch to another tune. Very occasionally I’ll play a tune on it’s own, in it’s own right. The transitions I use in clubs vary massively and are all played and transitioned live on the night. I love to through the odd curveball in – which you’ll see below – to keep the dance floor fresh and upbeat. No one knows what will come next, and sometimes that includes me! The great part of DJing from mp3’s is that if I all of a sudden think of a gem of a track in the last 30 seconds of the previous track, I can change it to the gem!

To conclude, I love all events I get to DJ at. I have a massive knowledge of music and I do like to think I know what music will work at what event. I don’t often play a public gig, but when I do it is so much fun because it is so different to a wedding!
